Bathroom Basics

When we moved into our log cabin I knew there would be many improvements to be made. To say the least, our guest bath was not glamours. I decided a quick fix was needed before our house warming.  My theme for this room was French Garden, a theme I was inspired from my previous trips to France.

To get things started I removed everything from the room and decided the shiplap could use a fresh white of paint. The key with this update was making sure the painters tape was covering everything from the floor tile, the wood beams and even the seriously outdated heater. Above is the before..

Two coats of paint and the room really lightened up. Once the painting was complete I realized the old lighting needed to be replaced. On a strict budget, I decided to just remove the glass and insert edison bulbs, and replace the glass from the hardware store. The focal point for this   update was the large mirror.

The glass pieces I found at the local hardware store were about $7 and really updated the look of the old light fixture.

 Here is the complete update!

Stay tuned for the DIY tile update coming soon..

Till Next Time,
